Memorial Day is just around the corner and people all over the country are getting geared up to honor those who have served their country and lost their lives. It's a holiday generally characterized by the colors of our nations flag.

" Memorial Day is a United States federal holiday observed on the last Monday of May (May 31 in 2010). Formerly known as Decoration Day, it commemorates U.S. men and women who died while in the military service."

Memorial Day is often celebrated by Americans by visiting graves of those who have passed on, and by spending time with family and friends around a BBQ or while enjoying the nice weather.

This Memorial Day I was thinking about the American Flag, and the sacrifice so many individuals and families have had to make.
